Welcome! I’m Edom Belayneh, an international student from Ethiopia majoring in Computer Science and an Honors Student at Central Michigan University. My journey brought me to the United States through the prestigious Centralis Scholarship awarded by CMU.
My interests span AI, machine learning, iOS development, and full-stack engineering, I love building products that have real-world impact.
I’m currently a Student Analyst at CMU’s Security Operations Center, expanding my skills in cybersecurity and systems monitoring.
Previously, I’ve worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Qualcomm and a Fellow at Headstarter AI, where I built scalable solutions and thrived in fast-paced environments.
Outside of engineering, I’m passionate about mentorship and leadership. As Vice President of Women in Technology at CMU, I focus on building spaces where women and underrepresented groups in tech feel supported and empowered.
My love for mentorship and helping others grow probably comes from my “older sister energy.” I can’t help but cheer people on and celebrate their wins! 😊 I thrive in diverse groups because different perspectives always spark the best ideas, and I enjoy caring for people and watching them flourish.
When I’m not coding, you’ll probably find me painting, exploring new places, or experimenting with ways technology can spark creativity and human connection.

Designed a Next.js dashboard, automated CI/CD pipelines, and deployed Linux-based servers to centralize sweep data and streamline debugging. Also built OpenCV scripts for camera tuning analysis, cutting manual work and boosting cross-team efficiency.

Built 5+ AI apps and APIs with real user adoption, integrating Next.js, OpenAI, Pinecone, and Stripe. Led a small team on MVC projects while improving delivery rates, all under mentorship from engineers at Amazon, Bloomberg, and Capital One.

Engineered Python algorithms and neural network simulations to model buoyancy-driven fluids and Navier-Stokes equations. Reduced computational time by 23% compared to traditional methods, advancing research in physics-informed AI.
